(Hartford, Conn./WTIC) - The state's largest teacher's union has released a list of recommendations for the safe reopening of schools in the fall.
The Connecticut Education Association has a half dozen measures it's calling for.
Chief among them: delaying the operning of school if certain districts can't meet CDC and public health and safety guidelines.
CEA also wants guaranteed funding for those districts to meet the requirements, weekly COVID-19 testing of students, teachers and staff, and recognizing and addressing risks of a pandemic.
Association President Jeff Leake says it's critical the necessary protections are in place to ensure safety.
The state has already released a plan of it's own that calls for mask wearing, social distancing, and grouping students by the same class and teacher where applicable.
