(Southington, Conn.WTIC) - Southington police are charging a state trooper following his arrest on Friday.
Sergeant Greg Smith was charnged with 2 counts of violating a protective order stemming from an incident at the alleged victim's apartment last month.
He's free on 10-thousand dollars bond.
Smith was charged last summer in a domestic violence case.
He had his police powers stripped as a result of that incident.
The suspended trooper is due today in New Britain Superior Court.
