(Cheshire, Conn./WTIC) - The saga involving high school sport this fall in the age of COVID-19 continues.
The Connecticut Interscholastic Athletic Conference now says fall sport will start August 29.
The CIAC's board of control met today to discuss a meeting Thursday night with Department of Public Health officials.
DPH has recommended scrapping football and volleyball until the spring, citing concerns over COVID-19.
The CIAC is also requesting it be able to resume non-contact conditioning workouts that began in July.
The Reopen CT Rules Committee is expected to discuss "the inconsistent guidance issued for CIAC interscholastic athletics versus non-CIAC youth sport opportunities".
