(Bloomfield, Conn./WTIC) - Bloomfield police say a crash involving a car and a motorcycle Tuesday afternoon in Hartford led to shots being fired.
Bloomfield officers were dispatched to the town line with Hartford on a report of the crash around 12:45 p.m.
Investigators say the motorcycle operator was knocked to the ground in the collision, with the other driver traveling into Bloomfield before pulling over.
Police say the motorcyclist reached into the driver's car in an attempt to grab the keys, the driver fighting him off.
That's when officers say the cyclist opened fire, hitting the car three times, shattering the rear window.
The driver wasn't hurt. The motorcyle operator fled on foot.
An abandoned motorcycle was found on Blue Hills Avenue.
Police say the motorcycle wasn't registered and had no license plate.
