ASHFORD, Conn. (WTIC Radio) - The insurance company set up to help Connecticut homeowners with crumbling foundations will soon begin accepting applications again. The Connecticut Foundation Solutions Indemnity Company will begin accepting new applications Jan. 13, and will continue to do so for at least 30 days, the company announced Monday. However, the company won't be able to do much with the claims for now.

Officials say they also need the legislature to extend the sunset date of the company to the end of June 2030, when the surcharge is itself slated to sunset."We want people to apply, even though we’re not going to be able to do much with their claims for a while," said CFSIC Superintendent Michael Maglaras.
