(Hartford, Conn./WTIC) - The COVID-19 pandemic continues to play havoc with the state's judicial system.

Having already rolled out a mitigation plan the has reduced daily court business, officials say they will further shrink the number of employees at facilities to prevent the spread of the virus.

Now, all but one courthouse in each of the state's 13 judicial districts will be closed.

One courthouse in each district will be open to hear only the most pressing cases.

In addition, juvenile matters will be heard in Hartford and Bridgeport.

Officials will reach out to employees to see who'll man those locations and who can work from home, chief court admininstrator Patrick Carroll says in a statement.
