Woman Removed from I-95
Connecticut State Police

WESTBROOK, Conn. (WTIC Radio)_ Connecticut State Police are applauding an officer who helped a distressed woman.

Troop F in Westbrook reports they received numerous 911 calls for a woman running across I-95 during rush hour traffic Wednesday morning. Officials say Lieutenant Colonel John Eckersley was travelling through the area when he saw the woman. He stepped into the high speed travel lane to bring the "erratic and distressed" woman to safety.

It's not clear what caused her to act erratically or what happened to her after police intervened.
