(Hartford, Conn./WTIC) - The number of flu-related deaths in Connecticut so far this season is now five.
The state Department of Public Health report is for the week ending last Saturday, December 28.
So far, all who have succumbed to flu have been 65 years of age or older.
DPH says there were 75 flu-related hospitalizations last week, 278 to date since the beginning of the season in mid-August.
The department reports widespread flu activity across Connecticut, with a total of 1,050 cases logged so far this season.
