WILLIMANTIC, Conn. (WTIC Radio) - A faculty member at Eastern Connecticut State University in Willimantic has tested positive for coronavirus, the school announced Sunday afternoon.
Citing federal health-privacy law, the university said it cannot release the identity of the individual.
The school is asking all students, faculty and staff to continue to self-monitor their own health while practicing social distancing and healthy hygiene.
Officials announced last week that Eastern would move to online classes after spring break, and that all employees are working remotely.
