(Hartford, Conn./WTIC) - Emergency management officials statewide want to get a leg up on any potential Coronavirus outbreak in Connecticut.
But they say supplies to combat the virus here are at a premium.
Old Saybrook police chief Michael Spera is also president of the Connecticut Emergency Management Association, which sent a letter today to state and federal officials expressing concerns.
Spera says in some instances, vendors have told them they can place orders for items like gowns, facemasks, gloves, and contamination devices but there could be a 3-4 month wait time.
He also says there are concerns because some of the items are exported from China, which has been dealing with Coronavirus on a far worse level.
Governor Ned Lamont holds a news conference at 4:30 at the State Armory to address preparation and other issues.
