(New Haven, Conn./WTIC) - Governor Ned Lamont toured a field hospital at Southern Connecticut State University today.
It's located at the Moore Field House and will accomodate about 200 patients who don't need acute care from COVID-19.
Dr. Steven Choi at Yale New Haven Hospital says the field hospital will free up space at conventional hospitals which are bracing for a surge of virus cases in the next two weeks.
Lamont says another 16 have died from the virus in Connecticut, including the youngest patient to date, a 7 week old baby from Hartford County.
All told there have been over 35-hundred cases and 85 deaths across the state.
