HARTFORD, Conn. (WTIC Radio) - The Hartford region has recorded its first case of coronavirus, Hartford HealthCare announced Friday night.
The patient is a woman in her 80s from Rocky Hill, said officials.
"Rocky Hill is going to be working very closely with the Department of Public Health," said Mayor Lisa J. Marotta at a press conference at Hartford Hospital Friday night. "Wewill be working hard on contact tracing as well as the isolation process if and when that becomes necessary."
Hartford Mayor Luke Bronin warned that there are probably a number of other people in Greater Hartford who are also infected.
Unofficially, this is the 12th case of coronavirus in a Connecticut resident.
