Former UConn Great Cliff Robinson Dead At 53

(Storrs, Conn./WTIC) - UConn says former men's basketball star Cliff Robinson has died.

Robinson starred for the Huskies from 1985 to 1989.  

He was selected in the 2nd round of the NBA draft in 1989 by the Portland Trail Blazers, the start of an 19-year career that saw him also play for the Phoenix Suns, Detroit Pistons, Golden State Warriors, and the New Jersey Nets.

Robinson was selected to one All-Star game and he was a sixth man of the year, was well abe being named twice named to the NBA All Defensive Team.  

Robinson averaged 14 points per game for his career including three straight seasons of 20 plus points per game.  He was 53.
