MILFORD, Conn. (WTIC Radio) - Milford police have arrested a Hamden man accused of stealing more than $200,000 in retirement funds from a local man.
Police say Travis Smith, 40, took more than $206,000 in retirement funds from the victim, claiming to be able to provide a better investment return.
Smith misappropriated the money and eventually cut off contact with the victim, said police.
He is charged with larceny, forgery and telephone fraud. Smith is free on $50,000 bond and due in Milford Superior April 9.
Police want to hear from anyone else who may have been a victim of Smith.
