Hamden, Conn. (WTIC) - Hamden Police have arrested a 21-year old male after responding to a Mill Rock Road residence on the report of a violent domestic dispute.
Justin Soto, of New Haven, turned himself in at police headquarters after police responded to the report at 10 o'clock Thursday night. Their investigation revealved that Soto forcibly entered his girlfriend's residence by kicking in the back door. After entering the residence, Soto became engaged in a verbal dispute with his girlfriend then pushed her and "slapped" her in the face.
She attempted to call police on her cell phone, however, Soto took the phone and "smashed" it.
Hamden Police conducted an extensive search, including a K-9 track, which was unsuccessful. Shortly after, Soto turned himself in.
He was arrested and chargeed with Burglarly in the 1st Degree, Assault in the 3rd Degree, Criminal Mischief in the 2nd Degree, Interfering with an Emergency Call and Disorderly Conduct.
Soto posted a $1,000 bond and was released. He appeared at Meriden Superior Court earlier today.
