(WTIC-AM) -- Before dawn this morning, a person called Hartford Police to report a woman covered in blood was screaming for help on Natick Street, a side street off New Britain Avenue in Hartford's south end.
The woman had been stabbed more than thirty times.
She is hospitalized in critical but stable condition.
The man suspected of attacking her drove away, and took her 6-year-old son with him.
An alert was sent to other police departments, and the child was entered into a database as missing and endangered.
Police found the child about 5:30 am, on a street in Worcester, Massachusetts, along with the vehicle the man drove away in.
The boy is unharmed.
Police are still looking for the attacker.
They have not yet released his identity.
