HARTFORD, Conn. (WTIC Radio)_ Hartford Police are looking several suspects accused of lobbing fireworks at officers on the Fourth of July.
City Police went to the area of Garden and Capen Streets on Saturday night. A large crowd had gathered to set off large mortar-type fireworks. Upon arrival, several individuals in the group began throwing lit fireworks at officers.
One officer was hit directly in the chest at which time the fireworks exploded on impact. He is being treated for his injuries.
The suspects face several felony assault charges when arrested.
