Hartford Police Investigating Homicide on Asylum Avenue

HARTFORD, Conn. (WTIC Radio) - Hartford Police are investigating a Sunday homicide on Asylum Avenue.

Authorities say an adult man was found dead inside a residence at 784 Asylum Avenue. Police have identified the victim as Victor King, 64.

According to officials, patrol officers found King on the kitchen floor while conducting a well-being check at 3:38 Sunday afternoon. 

Police say King had sustained severe trauma to several parts of his body by means of a bladed instrument.

Investigators identified King's roommate, Jerry Thompson, 42, as a person of interest.

A member of the Hartford Police Auto Theft Unit later found Thompson inside a vehicle in Keney Park at 9:15 p.m.

Police arrested Thompson and charged him with one count of Murder. Authorities issued a $2,000,000.00 judge-set bond.
