HARTFORD, Conn. (WTIC Radio) - After social media chatter about a string of burglaries in Hartford's West End, police are trying to provide some context.
There have been eight burglaries so far this year in the West End, two fewer than at this point in 2018, police note. They add, citywide, burglaries are down 48 percent so far this year.
"The numbers are really down, but all it takes is one citizen to be concerned, and that's a concern to us," said Hartford Police Detective Marcos Massa, who has spent the last six years investigating burglaries in the city.
Police say there's no distinct pattern to the burglaries. They talked with residents about an array of topics at a "Coffee with a Cop" event in the West End Tuesday morning.
