(SHELTON,Conn./WTIC Radio)- Shelton Police have arrested a 30 year old local woman accused of stealing money from an elderly woman she cared for.Police received a complaint from a man who said his 83 year old mother, who has dementia, was missing a large sum of money from her bank accounts.
Investigators learned that Jennifer Poitevien ,a home health aide , had made ATM withdrawals with the victim's credit card and opened another card in the victim's name.
It was discovered Poitevien withdrew more than $22,000 from the victim's bank accounts from April of last year until this month.
Poitevien has been charged with Larceny in the 1st Degree,Credit Card Theft and Identity Theft in the 1st Degree.She is free on $5,000 bond and has a May 1st date in Derby Superior Court.
