WATERFORD, Conn. (WTIC Radio)_ Crews put out a hotel fire in Waterford on Sunday.
A mulch fire started outside the Springhill Suites and extended to the building on North Frontage Road around 2:40 p.m.
Waterford Fire needed backup due to a lack of proper staffing. New London Fire was able to assist in controlling the fire.
The extent of the damage is unknown.
