WINDSOR LOCKS, Conn. (WTIC Radio)_ Windsor Locks police are investigating the Wednesday night shooting death of a male juvenile inside Pesci Park.
Officers went to the Center Street park around 10:19 p.m. Wednesday on the report someone had been shot.
Upon arrival, police immediately found city resident Eliljah Ortega, 16, with multiple gunshot wounds on the ground. His body was just outside the park's baseball field. Ortega was transported to local hospital where he was pronounced deceased before 11 p.m.
Investigators believe a dispute between various people inside the park led up to the fatal gunfire. Suspects fled in a car that was later found in Hartford.
Windsor Locks police say they have identified several persons of interest and expect to make arrests soon.
