(Hartford, Conn./WTIC) - Hartford police are investigating an early morning burglary after they say the suspect was caught inside by an employee showing up for work.
A little after 3:30, officers were called to a Dunkin' Donuts on Washington Street.
Upon arrival, they found an open rear door and a broken drive-thru window.
Inside, they say the suspect, 34-year-old Joseph Hunter, was holding a crowbar and attempting to get into the business's safe.
As officers formed a perimeter around the building. police say Hunter attempted to flee out the drive-thru window but was captured.
He's facing a slew of charges including burglary, possession of burglary tools, and criminal mischief.
Bond was set at $52,500 and investigators say they're trying to determine if Hunter was behind other reported commercial and residential burglaries.
