(Waterbury, Conn./WTIC) - Police in Waterbury are investigating a fatal shooting from the overnight.
Just after midnight, officers were called to the scene on Violet Street on a report of a shooting.
When they rolled up, police found a crowd standing over a man who'd been shot in the chest and was unresponsive.
They provided medical attention before the victim was rushed to St. Mary's Hospital.
He was pronounced dead about an hour later.
Detectives located empty cartridge casings at the scene.
So far no arrests have been made and theres no word yet on a motive for the shooting.
