ESSEX, Conn. (WTIC Radio) - A Deep River man was killed in a wrong-way crash on Route 9 in Essex Monday.
State police say David Moran, 38, was pronounced dead after he entered the southbound side of the highway traveling north. Moran's Subaru Outback collided head-on with a Honda Element near Exit 3 shortly after 5 p.m., said police.
A New London man who was driving the Honda was taken to Hartford Hospital with serious injuries, said police. The driver of another vehicle that also hit Moran's vehicle was not injured, said police.
