(HARTFORD,Conn./WTIC)- The Travelers Championship has announced 2018-2019 FedEx Cup winner Rory Mcllroy has committed to the tournament next June.Mcllroy won the TOUR Championship in Atlanta last weekend and became only the second player to win the season-long FedEx Cup points championship twice.
Mcllroy is coming off one of his best seasons on the PGA TOUR,with 14 top 10 finishes in 19 starts. Along with the TOUR Championship, Mcllroy also won The Players Championship and the RBC Canadian Open in 2019.
Mcllroy said "I really missed playing at TPC River Highlands this year, so I'm looking forward to coming back in 2020".Mcllroy tied for 17th at the 2017 Travelers Championship and finished 12th in 2018.
The 202 Traveles Championship will be held June 22-28 at TPC River Highlands in Cromwell.
