Meriden Police Investigate Two Shootings

MERIDEN, Conn. (WTIC Radio)_ Meriden Police are investigating two early Sunday morning shootings.

A 15-year-old girl is nursing a non-life threatening gunshot wound to her arm. She was shot around 12:46 a.m. while sitting in front of her house at 19 Greer Avenue. Investigators say two suspects approached from Summit Street and opened fire from behind the house. Police say this is a targeted shooting.

Meriden Police responded to reports around 2 a.m. that a man had been shot while he was driving in the 900 Block of East Main Street. Detectives believe the suspects drove up along side the victim's car and shot the man in his head and chest. The man suffers from non-life threatening injuries. It is not clear if this incident is targeted.

No suspect or victim identities have been released.
