NORTH BRANFORD, Conn. (WTIC Radio) - A man is dead following a fire in a mobile home in North Branford early Friday.
Firefighters were called to the home on Foxon Road around 12:45 a.m. to find the home on fire. A 66-year-old man was located in a bedroom, and later pronounced dead at Yale-New Haven hospital, said firefighters.
Authorities say the home did not have a working smoke alarm, even though there was an effort about two years ago to ensure every home in the mobile home park did have a working smoke detector.
While the cause of the fire is under investigation, authorities say the blaze appears to be an accident.
