NEW HAVEN, Conn. (WTIC Radio)_ New Haven police say a mother who was shot while walking her daughter in New Haven is expected to be okay.
Police say the 30-year-old woman was crossing Grand Avenue with her daughter and groceries around 11:40 a.m. Monday.
She was struck in the lower back and is being treated for her non-life-threatening injuries at Yale New Haven Hospital. The child was not injured.
Police do not believe the mother was the intended target. Identities are being withheld.
