
(Waterbury, Conn./WTIC) - State Police have released the names of those involved in a fatal shooting involving Waterbury police on Monday.
The man shot was 57-year-old Edward Gendron.
The Waterbury officer involved in the incident is Officer Ronald W. Tompkins III. Tompkins is a 29-year veteran of the force.
Police were called to a home on Craigie Street on Monday on a complaint of a bullet hole in a wall separating two units.
A struggle ensued, police say, and Gendron was shot.
The New Britain state's attorney's office is also involved in the investigation.
It's the third fatal police involved shooting this month in Connecticut.
