(WTIC-AM) -- An NCAA investigation released today confirmed rules violations during the tenure of former UConn men's basketball coach Kevin Ollie.
The Committee on Infractions found that Ollie knowingly provided false or misleading information to NCAA investigators, and failed to monitor his staff.
A booster also gave players free training sessions, lodging, meals, transportation, and access to a private gym.
Ollie told the NCAA that he did not know about the freebies for players, but other people said he was aware of the situation.
The NCAA ordered 2-years of probation for UConn, the loss of one scholarship for a year, and a $5-thousand fine.
Ollie is barred from working in athletics at any other schools for three years, unless another school can show why the restriction should not apply.
