(Hartford, Conn./WTIC) - The state Department of Public Health is reporting additional illnesses due to the use of electronic cigarettes in Connecticut.

DPH says four more illnesses have been logged, bringing to 38 the number of cases reported in Connecticut thus far.

Fairfield County had the most cases with 17, followed by New Haven County with nine.

All told, the CDC has reported nearly 19-hundred vaping related lung injuries.  There've been 37 deaths confirmed in 24 states.

DPH Commissioner Renee Coleman-Mitchell says with new cases being reported, the best way to precent lung injuries is to not use e-cigarette or vaping products altogether.
