
(New Haven, Conn./WTIC)-An off-duty New Haven firefighter walking near his home was injured during a shooting Saturday night and remains in stable condition. His name has not been released.New Haven Fire, Police, American Medical Response and Hamden Police all responded outside a residence on Shelton Avenue between Read Street and the Hamden town line near Goodrich Street. They treated the 28-year old gunshot victim and then transported the New Haven man to Yale New Haven Hospital. Both New Haven and Hamden Police recovrered evidence of gunfire in the roadway and sidewalk.New Haven Fire Chief John Alston said, “My office was notified immediately by the Dispatchers at the Public Safety Access Point. We were shocked to hear of the incident and are grateful for the rapid emergency medical services."
