NEW HAVEN, Conn. (WTIC Radio) - State police have been called in to investigate an officer-involved shooting in New Haven.
A section of Dixwell Avenue near Argyle Street was closed Tuesday morning as authorities investigated. A female suspect was shot in the leg. She is expected to survive, said a city official. A second suspect-- a man-- was arrested, he said.
The situation began with a reported armed street robbery in Hamden around 4:20 a.m. The shooting occurred after a suspect vehicle was located in New Haven, said city officials. Officers from Hamden and Yale University were involved. It's unclear who shot the suspect. No New Haven officers were involved in the shooting.
