(Bloomfield, Conn./WTIC) - Bloomfield police say the driver of a vehicle that struck a building this morning has died.
It was around a quarter to ten that officers say they were dispatched to the intersection of Greenwood Avenue and East Burnham Street.
They say the car hit a house and burst into flames.
Police say the driver was pronounced dead at the scene. He was a 33-year-old Hartford resident.
A single occupant in the home, which sustained extensive damage, was able to get out safely.
Greenwood Avenue and several surrounding streets were shut down as a result of the investigation.
The driver's name has not yet been released.
