FAIRFIELD, Conn. (WTIC Radio) - Fairfield police have arrested a now-former patient at a local nursing home on charges that he sexually assaulted a fellow patient.
Police say Elias Saldana, 57, sexually assaulted a 75-year-old woman who is bedridden and unable to speak January 21 at Regal Care of Southport.
Saldana had been ordered to stay out of the patient's room following previous incidents, said police.
Saldana is charged with second-degree sexual assault, second-degree reckless endangerment, fourth-degree sexual assault and second-degree burglary. He was held on $100,000 bail pending arraignment in Bridgeport Superior Court.
