(Milford, Conn./WTIC) - Add Milford to the growing list of cities and towns across Connecticut that are canceling or postponing St. Patrick'sDays events as a result of COVID-19.
City leaders say this year's parade has been canceled.
In a statement, officials say the decision was made based on Governor Lamont's declaration of a public health emergency and the closure of a private school due to a possible case of coronavirus.
On Tuesday, Hartford and New Haven canceled their St. Patrick's Day events.
Hartford Mayor Luke Bronin said Tuesday there is a likelihood that more large events may be scrapped or pushed back over the next month or so, depending on how or if the virus spreads.
