HARTFORD, Conn. (AP) _ The Connecticut House of Representatives has overwhelmingly passed legislation stemming from the death of a Guilford teen who accidentally shot himself in the head.   Known as ``Ethan's Law,'' the bill cleared the House on a bipartisan 127-16 vote Tuesday evening. It now awaits Senate action.

The bill is in response to the death of 15-year-old Ethan Song, who shot himself with a handgun owned by a friend's father in January 2018. It requires both loaded and unloaded firearms to be safely stored in homes where there are minors under age 18.

The bill also requires the State Board of Education to develop a firearms safety guide for students in kindergarten through grade 12 for school districts to use, if they choose.

Ethan's parents watched Tuesday's vote from the House gallery.
