(Hartford, Conn./WTIC) - A student is recovering after being stabbed at Weaver High School in Hartford this morning.

According to John Fergus, a spokesman for the school system, one student stabbed another just after 10:30.

The school was placed in a Code yellow, which is akin to a lockdown where students are held in their classrooms for the time being.

Fergus says the victim was stabbed in the rib cage area.

The victim was initially treated in the Weaver High School health center before being transported to St. Francis Hospital and Medical Center with what are believed to be non-life threatening injuries.

The suspect is in custody.

Officials haven't said what led to the stabbing.
