(WTIC)- The National Weather Service has confirmed an EF-1 tornado touched down in Coventry and Mansfield during Wednesday's severe weather.The tornado with maximum winds of 85-90 miles per hour remained on the ground for about nine minutes.
The tornado touched down around 5:40 pm on North River Road in Coventry and went through the Skungamaug River Golf Club where it took down numerous trees.It then lifted before touching down again near Brigham Tavern Road and crossed Rote 44 near Depot Road in Mansfield..The tornado lifted after going across a cornfield near Plains Road.
No one was injured.
Only minor damage to buildings was reported.
