(Glastonbury, Conn./WTIC) - Fire and utility officials had their hands full in Glastonbury this morning with a gas line fire.
The call came around 6:30 a.m. to the area of Strickland Street between Hebron Street and Millstone Road on town.
Authorities say two homes were evacuated as a precaution.
Power had to be cut to the area and Eversource and Connecticut Natural Gas crews responded to the scene.
The fire was apparently caused by a tree that fell on some wires, which ignited a pair of transformers.
That sparked a blaze on a residential lawn.
Glastonbury Fire says crews are expected to be on scene much of the day to make repairs.
