MIDDLEBURY, Conn. (WTIC Radio) - Two young people are dead following a single-vehicle crash on Interstate 84 in Middlebury Thursday afternoon.
State police, Friday, identified the deceased victims as Kayla Veness, 18, of Plymouth and Daniel Veness Jr., 20, of Waterbury.
Police say both were passengers in a 2006 Chevy Cobalt that lost control and crashed after being observed traveling at a high rate of speed on the eastbound side of the highway near Exit 17 around 4:30 p.m.
Three other people, including the driver, were hospitalized following the crash. One of the other passengers, Daniel Veness Sr., 45, of Danbury, sustained suspected serious injuries, according to police.
