UConn's Bouknight To Return For Sophomore Season

(Storrs, Conn./WTIC) - Star freshman James Bouknight will return to the UConn men's basketball team for his sophomore season.  

The Brooklyn product let the Sunday deadline to declare eligibility for the NBA draft expire, ending any speculation the 6-4 guard would opt to turn pro.

Earlier, Bouknight had sent out a tweet that read "Unfinished Business" fueling speculation he would return.

Bouknight helped lead UConn to a 19-12 record before the season was abrutly halted due to the COVID-19 outbreak.

In 28 games this season, Bouknight averaged 13.0 points and 4.1 rebounds per game.  

He was at his best in a February 29 game against East Carolina when he scored 19 points, hauled in 10 rebounds and dished out 4 assists in an 84-63 win.

In the Huskies last 13 games of the truncated season, Bouknight led the Huskies to a 9-4 mark, averaging 17.1 points and 5.0 rebounds.
