HARTFORD, Conn. (WTIC Radio) - Connecticut ranks 21 in U.S. News & World Report's Best States 2019 rankings.
The rankings, in their third year, consider 71 different weighted factors.
Connecticut ranks third in the health care category, sixth in environment and seventh in crime and corrections. The state comes in at number 46 for both fiscal stability and infrastructure.
Connecticut moved up three spots from the 2018 rankings, though the magazine warns against making direct year-to-year comparisons because the metrics do change a bit.
Washington is the top state on the list. Louisiana ranks last.
