WESTPORT, Conn. (WTIC Radio) - A 61-year-old man suffering from dementia was reported missing Wednesday morning, according to Westport Police.
Joseph Demattio of 7 Wassell Lane walked away from his home at around 7:00 a.m. on foot, police say. Officials responded to the report at around 9:00 a.m and issued a Silver Alert.
Police say Demattio was last seen in the area of Main Street at Canal Street shortly after leaving his home.
Officials describe Demattio as 6'3" with gray hair. He was last seen wearing a black nylon jacket with jeans and a red University of Maryland baseball hat.
Just before 1 p.m. Wednesday, police cancelled the Silver Alert. Police say Demattio was located and is being reunited with his family.
