WATERBURY, Conn. (WTIC Radio) - A police chase that began in East Hartford and stretched westward on Interstate 84 to Waterbury came to an end Friday afternoon.East Hartford police say an officer investigating a complaint of a suspicious vehicle on St. Regis Street was struck by that vehicle, which then fled the scene. Officers chased the vehicle onto I-84, said police.The chase continued through Hartford westbound all the way to Waterbury, where the suspect vehicle was boxed in, in the area of Exit 25-A.Police say the operator was taken into custody and was being taken back to East Hartford to face charges.The officer who was struck sustained what appear to be minor injuries, said police.
