WILLIMANTIC, Conn. (WTIC Radio)_ Willimantic and State Police are investigating a murder-suicide on Tuesday.
Officers say they responded to the report of an assault just before noon. Upon arrival at a residence on Gem Drive, a woman was found dead inside a residence.
An armed male suspect was believed to have been barricaded inside a residence. After attempts to make contact with that suspect, a robot found him dead inside.
Sweeney Elementary School and Windham Middle School were placed in lockdown out of an abundance of caution.
The investigation remains active.
