(Windsor Locks, Conn./WTIC) - There's been an arrest in the killing of a 16-year-old Windsor Locks resident last month.
Authorities say 22-year-old Daniel Baez of Hartford was picked up Thursday in West Haven.
Police say he'd been on the run since allegedly shooting Elijah Ortega back on June 24 in Pesci Park.
Officers say they spotted the suspect in a common hallway of a residence, sealed off entrances and exits and collared Baez without incident.
Baez is charged with murder, criminal possession of a firearm and criminal use of a firearm.
His bond was set $1 million.
The arrest comes a day after another suspect in the case, Sydney Witchard, was charged with hindering prosecution.
Officers say she took baez to the murder scene and he escaped in her vehicle.
tag out: baez is due friday (later today) in hartford superior court.
