Officers In Ledyard Police Shooting ID'd

(Ledyard, Conn./WTIC) - Police in Ledyard have released the names of the officers involved in an incident last weekend in which a suspect was shot.  

They say Officers Benjanmin Burbank and Bobby Kempke fired shots at a vehicle they were trying to stop last Sunday night.  

The car driven by 35-year-old Francisco Hernandez of Hartford engaged officers in a pursuit and ended up in the rear of a town residence on Reservoir View.

Officers were had attempted a traffic stop on Lantern Hill Road prior to the shooting.

Hernandez was treated at L&M Hospital in New London.

Burbank and Kempke, as well as two sergeants and another officer escaped injury.

State Police and the New London state's attorney's office are continuing the investigation.
