(Hartford, Conn./WTIC) - Governor Ned Lamont has called debate on the legalization of recreational marijuana a legislative priority this session, adding he supports the measure in order to avoid black market sales.

But at the State Capitol today, a group of opponents made the argument against legal pot.

Health experts point to effects on the brains of young people who smoke.

State Representative Vincent Candelora calls it a money grab.

He says additional research about the ill effects of pot strengthened his resolve.

Candelora calls the legal marijuana industry the "new big tobacco".
